Frankham Street is a two-phase regeneration development project for Peabody. Phase 1 consisted of the delivery 93 units located in the former school grounds. Phase 2 involves the conversion of the two school buildings, along with roof top extensions, to provide a further 51 units.
The existing school buildings were constructed in the late 19th Century. Both are two storeys and formed in a combination of load bearing masonry and hot rolled steel frame with filler joist floors. The conversion works involve the remodeling of the buildings to accommodate the new residential apartments along with a two-storey vertical extension to the main school building and single storey vertical extension to the annex building along with two additional mezzanine floors.
