Plaistow Hub, Newham

Residential

Overview

Plaistow Hub involves the redevelopment of two sites either side of Plaistow railway station. The southern site is dominated by a 22-storey residential tower, and the northern site will accommodate a single block rising to 15 storeys.

Challenging Site Either Side of Network Rail Station

The southern site is dominated by a 22-storey residential tower linked to the highway via a raised podium deck, forming a new public square. Connecting with this new square and the adjoining footway is a further low rise commercial building providing new retail and fitness facilities. The northern site will accommodate a single block rising to 15 storeys. The lower two floors of which will provide a community centre and library. Influenced by Network Rail, TfL, Highways and Thames Water; with two trunk sewers running adjacent to Valetta Grove, early engagement with these third parties and a collaborative approach with all was essential to delivering a successful project.
