Tracking our RC Frame Projects
Tullys implementation of the IStructE SCORS rating has been applied to a number of our past projects to benchmark their embodied carbon rating. Focusing on reinforced concrete frames, we have analysed this data output, studied the trends and are now applying the findings to new projects. We are then able to lead discussions as early as RIBA Stage 2 with clients though to Stage 5 with main contractors, to minimize the buildings embodied carbon.

Retrofit Engineers
Tullys have been implementing the ‘Retain’ principles on retrofit projects for many years. Our engineers know the value of building research, studying past planning approvals and peeling back the finishes to reveal the building’s life story. Desktop and intrusive investigations allows us to relive the building’s history and influence our Retain principles when engaged at RIBA Stage 1 and 3, before planning commitments are made.
We are proud to be early members of The Engineers Reuse Collective, a group of practicing engineers championing, accelerating and sharing knowledge on the reuse of materials in the built environment.

Tullys are also developing our design response to regenerative design principles defined in the Institution of Structural Engineers publication The Regenerative Engineer along with The Architect’s Declare Primer Publication.

Embodied Carbon – Our Impact
Tullys Footprint has been reviewed through our certified assessor taking account of our initiatives including green energy, waste reduction and computer recycling. As a result, we are well on our way to becoming a carbon neutral company.

Tullys DROP Framework
Our inhouse development of ‘DROP’ and its implementation into our project design cycle and project audit reviews, helps us in our drive towards Net Zero commitments, defined through our Civil and Structural Engineers Declare Climate and Biodiversity Emergency Declaration.
